Australian-owned, it is based in Morwell, Victoria, with other offices in Lynbrook, Darwin and remote staff scattered across Australia. It is one of the largest employers in the Latrobe Valley region. The company was formed in 2008 after the amalgamation of Wideband Networks Pty Ltd and Westvic Broadband Pty Ltd. Its primary focus is providing NBN internet connections and was the first telco outside "the Big Four" to commission infrastructure to all 121 points of interconnect across Australia. Aussie Broadband is the fifth largest connector of new NBN connections in Australia.
